The Humble Petition of The Senior Clerical

and Accounting Staff of the Government of

Hongkong, November, 1940.

To His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies.

That your Petitioners are the male members of the Senior

Clerical and Accounting Staff of the Hongkong Government

That the said Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff was

established by the HongKong Government in the year 1927 and

was reclassified in the year 1930 in the following manner

Eight Officers holding special appointments

2. Ten Officers of Class I

3.

4.

Ten Officers of Class II

Twenty-two Officers of Class III ·

5. Seven Probationers

-

6.

Lady Confidential Assistants and Stenographers

7.

Lady Stenographers

3.

4.

That in the year 1939 Classes II and III were merged into one

Class which is known as Class II.

That the Special Appointments available to and forming part of

the Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff in the year 1930 were

as follows :-

1. Chief Clerk to the Colonial Secretariat.
